• The Sangamon County Spelling Bee has been rescheduled to next Wednesday, 3/2.
• The JH kicked off its Annual MAGAZINE FUNDRAISER last week!  We have some AMAZING prizes this year!  A student from each grade level will have the opportunity to win a Chromebook!  More details to come (will be send separately via email).
• The Dentist is coming to town!  The dentist will be here tomorrow 2/26.  For questions, please contact Mrs. Killion.
• The JH Band will be participating in the SEMA competition on 2/27 at Tri City.
• The NBHS Art Club will host a PAINTING PARTY on 2/27 from 12-3PM in the Cafeteria.  Tickets are $10.  Please email Ms. Wehling (ewehling@pretzelpride.com) to reserve your spot.  Walk-ins are welcome, but supplies are limited.
• JH MAP testing will begin on 3/14 and take place throughout the week.  Please help students be successfully  by having them start out with a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast!  This will be our 3rd and final round of bench marking for our students for the year with this assessment.
• Attention 6th and 7th grade girls!  The South County Vipers will run a BASKETBALL CAMP in Waverly on 3/14-3/19.  If you are interested, registration forms are in the JH office.
• The 6-12 Spring Band Concert will be Tuesday, 3/15 at 7PM at NBE.

• Our students of the Month for January (Fairness) are: Joel Lucasey (6th), Brandon Kemp (7th), and Whitney Strite (8th).
• Congratulations to Ms. Wainman!  She was nominated by students and staff as the Staff Member of the Month for January!
• Tomorrow night is the Cheerleader Chicken Dinner from 4-7PM in the cafeteria.  If you didn't purchase an advance ticket there will be a limited number of dinners available.
• There will be NO SCHOOL on MONDAY 2/15 in honor of President's Day.
• Our TeamQuest teams advanced out of the local competition and will be participating in Arcola Regional on 2/18.  Please congratulate Mrs. Beard, Mrs. Delaney, and the following students for a job well done and wish them well at Regionals: (7th Grade) Connor Schutz, Lauren Williams, Jackson Taylor, and Riley Crawford.  (8th Grade) Pierce Bergschneider, Zach Brewer, Kyle Dickman, and Malea Bixby.

February 5th, 2016

• Today, 2/5, will be an 1145 DISMISSAL.  It is also the 3rd quarter mid-term.
• NBJH is having immense success in math skills using IXL.  To date our students have completed over 400,000 problems at grade level!  Additionally, our students have spent over 2,700 hours in IXL.  We honored the top 10 students in each grade today for both skills mastered and skills proficient!
• 8th Grade Boys ended their season with a loss against Plains in the Regional Semi-Final on Monday.
• Scholastic Bowl APPAREL orders are due Monday 2/8.  See Mrs. Beard for an order form.  Many of the items are non-sport/activity specific.
• Spring sports are just around the corner!  TRACK will host it's MANDATORY parent meeting on 2/10 at 6PM in the cafeteria.  Contact the coaches, Coach McClarey  (emcclarey@pretzelpride.com) and Coach Staley (sstaley@pretzelpride.com) with questions.
