October 22nd, 2015

  • New Berlin Junior High has joined Twitter!  Please follow us @NewBerlinJH for news, updates, and pictures from our building!
  • Pretzels Give Back! Pretzel Athletics and New Berlin Junior High are partnering with the Pretzels Angel Tree to host a Community Holiday Dinner on December 12th. This Dinner will be open to all community members regardless of student attendance in New Berlin Schools. Please consider donating the items listed on the flyer attached. Donations will be accepted at Friday night's football and will continue through November. (Details below)
  • Our Fanny May fundraiser kicked off last week.  This fundraiser benefits the JH Student Council - which serves the entire JH (reward trips, dances, etc.).  Please help support activities at the Junior High! Fanny May sales will continue through 10/22.
  • There will be a parent meeting for JH Scholastic Bowl on 10/29 from 6-7 in Mrs. Beard's classroom.  This meeting is mandatory for all students who want to participate in Scholastic Bowl.  Practice will begin the first week of November.
  • Our next 1145 Dismissal for SIP will be 10/30.
  • It's time to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences.  Look for a separate email about how to sign up tomorrow.  Appointments are required.  Conferences will be held on 11/4 and 11/5 from 5-8PM.
  • Don't worry - we've got dinner covered!  When you sign up for conferences, consider placing your order for a Papa Murphy's Take and Bake Pizza.  They will be available for pickup during conferences.
  • The PTO will be hosting the Scholastic Book fair during the week of conferences.  Students will be able to visit during their English classes during the day.  The book fair will be set up during Parent Teacher Conferences in the cafeteria.
  • The Angel Tree Committee has started working on submitting student names for the "Community Angel Tree".  This program is to help parents provide a Christmas for their child when times are difficult.  No child's name is ever identified to the public.  If you are interested in having your child/children's names included on this list, please stop by the office and pick up a form.  The form must be submitted by 11/6.
  • It is critical that students are dropped off and picked up on the JH side each day.  It is a safety issue that is completely avoidable.  If you are dropping off and/or picking up your child from school it must be from the designated areas and NOT on the dome side of the school.
  • If you don't have Family Access please contact Mrs. Owens to get setup - this is an invaluable resource!
  • Check out www.pretzelathletics.com for Pretzel Athletics updates, schedules, and results.  You can also follow Pretzel Athletics on Twitter @nbpretzelpride and on Facebook.
  • The character for the month is TRUSTWORTHINESS - A person of character is trustworthy, lives with integrity, and its honest, reliable, and loyal.
  • The Student of Character nominees for this week are: Lauren Williams, Alex Graham, Kenna Bixby, and Keith Richey.
